used iphone for sales in singapore

Is the new iPhone’s business model tough on unlockers?

Hi. I’m going to import the new iPhone3G to Singapore in a few days time. Will i be able to unlock the new iPhone3G using the same softwares which worked on the older models?

I’m curious about this cuz it has been told that apple has
“It will stem the flow of unlocked phones in two ways.

First, the phone will be sold in more countries. Apple added five countries beyond the U.S. for the first phone, but the second one will go on sale in 22 countries on July 11. Apple has said it will add more countries at a rapid clip and reach 70 by the end of the year. That takes away one of main incentives for unlocking.

Second, Apple is abandoning the unusual arrangement under which the iPhone was being sold. Customers could buy them from a carrier or from Apple without activating them on a service plan, and that meant customers could go home and unlock the phones — and never sign up with AT&T.”

The source can’t exactly answer my question…. so pls help me.

thanks!

Iphone 3g stuck at Recovery Mode

While I have not had a problem since 8 months with my iPhone 3G, on again tonight it displays the image USB connection with the message “Restoration needed! The Iphone can not make or receive calls. Perform a restore from iTunes. When I am trying to restore nothing is happening.!! Then I thought to do the recovery but that also didn’t worked for me. I am posting here so that you can give some solutions for this issues…!!

Re: Iphone 3g stuck at Recovery Mode
The following steps would be useful for unlocking the restoration :
Open iTunes
Turn iPhone (it turns on the image USB connection with message recovery required)
Connect the iPhone to the computer with the USB cable (it displays the above message claiming PinCode)
Press simultaneously on the Power button and the Home button for about 6 seconds until the screen turns off by itself
As soon as the screen turned off, wait one second and then release the Power button, by holding down the Home button (the screen should remain black)
Continue to press the Home button for 10-15 seconds the screen should remain black, then you are in DFU mode Itunes and offers catering.
Hope that it helps. Good luck.

Re: Iphone 3g stuck at Recovery Mode
I steps that are mentioned below are recommended for restoring your Iphone 3g :
Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes
First I suggest you back up your iPhone, making a right click> save its icon appears on the left under “Devices”. If this is impossible because of your problem, skip this step or go ask on our forum.
Turn on your iphone, no matter what state it is. If the problem is precisely that it does not light.
Press the Power button (top) and the Home button (bottom) and hold them pressed
When the screen turns off, immediately release the power button (above) but always keep the Home button (at bottom) button
Wait until iTunes detects an iPhone in recovery mode
You just have to press the “Restore” button, iTunes will restore your iPhone in its original state

Re: Iphone 3g stuck at Recovery Mode

hello, 3gs .. BlackRain … um here is the solution not to restore. Recovery BlackRain simply when you’re on the iTunes logo. After you can make a nice backup via itune (right click on your tel => Save). If you do not want to have this worry, once back up, you can start a restore, which you settled the 3.1.3. Itunes Then you propose to set up as new iphone, or from a backup, you choose the backup you’ve just made.

Re: Iphone 3g stuck at Recovery Mode
I was having the same problem and luckily I managed to resolve that. To restore a locked iPhone (iPhone does not restart and hangs on the apple), the handling is as follows :
Connect the iPhone a usb
Launch iTunes
Turn off (if necessary with power + home)
Press power button (top) and then keep pressing home a few seconds
Since the emergence of Apple releasing power and wait with home support
iTunes offers to restore
And now an iPhone that works! No more blocking! If the restoration fails, not with iTunes, try again by restarting the mac / pc, it worked for me!!

Lost Baggage :( please help?

BA lost my bright green suitcase wich must have over5000 AED [ about 900+ stterling pounds] worth of stuff [ ghds, ipod, loadsa clothes, make up, all my face wash for a year, bras etc…

Im really worried about it and quite stupidly didnt padlock it before i left jo’burg…

will i get money if it is completley lost? Will my stuff be safe?

Please help!

Hi there i work for BA firstly am sorry to here that your bag is lost.
secondly did you file the bag lost when you got to london or at your destination.
Also did you fly on another carrier before taking a ba flight as it may well have been the previous carriers fault if they have not connected your bag in time for the ba flight hence why it would not arrive with you.
If you have made a claim you will need to have provided details of any valuable items in the bag, you were right not to lock the bag as many stations now require you to have the bag unlocked incase whilst at x-ray they see something that they dont like and need to inspect it further.
If for any reason your bag does not turn up within the designated time that the baggage services people have given then you will be due compensation but they will advise you of exactly how much you will get.
Secondly have you taken out travel insurance because the airline may not pay out for certain things that may be covered on travel insurance.
If you have not reported the bag missing may I suggest that you do so that the process can be started in locating your bag.
Good luck
