How to Make Your HP Printer iPad Compatible
Unless you live under a rock, you’ve heard about the iPad. With all of its impressive features, the iPeople discounted one important component – the ability to print to any HP printer. Fortunately, iPad printing applications are now being unveiled for HP printer users like you. Let’s examine a few iPad printing options for your HP printer.
For Epson Printers
If you use an Epson printer, you can print from your iPad using the Epson iPrint app. Originally released for the iPod, iPrint can now be used with an iPad over a WiFi connection. Epson users can get iPrint at no cost from the App Store.
For Canon Users
If you’re looking to print photos from your iPad to a wireless Canon printer, use the free Canon app called Easy Photo-Print for iPhone. Unfortuantely, this app can only print photos, not text.
For Hewlett-Packard Users
HP has a similar free iPad app called HP iPrint Photo.
For Lexmark Users
Lexmark printer users can use an iPad printing app called Air Sharing HD. The app costs 10 dollars and does not work with PCs – just Macs. Air Sharing HD does not access files directly off of your iPad. Instead, the app communicates with a server (e.g. email account) to print a document. In other words, you can email an iPad document to yourself and then open it in Air Sharing HD to print. This app was compatible with Lexmark and Epson printers, but had trouble printing on an HP.
Lexmark users can also buy a $3 direct printing app called ePrint. Again, this app works only with Macs.
Additonal iPad Printing Options
One of the more well-known iPad printing applications is PrintCentral, by EuroSmartz. This app will print from any printer, including your HP, to a PC over a WiFi connection. PrintCentral costs 10 dollars at the App Store and allows users to print web pages, images, and contacts.
HP printer users can also purchase Print Magic by Wellala, Inc., for $7 at the App Store. This app allows users to print text, graphics, and web pages from your iPad.
How to Save on HP Printer Ink
Now that printing is more accessible for iPad users, many consumers are looking for ways to save on printing expenses. The best way to decrease printing costs is to nix those overpriced store-bought HP printer cartridges, and purchase remanufactured HP printer cartridges instead.
Let’s take a look at an example. A typical HP black printer cartridge costs around $25 from a retail store. A remanufactured black HP printer cartridge, however, will only cost around $12 from a trusted online supplier. That’s half the price – plus all cartridges come with a satisfaction guarantee!
Remanufactured HP cartridges will not only save money, they are also eco-friendly and help lower the amount of toxins in our land and atmosphere. Consumers can feel good about buying remanufactured printer cartridges because they are recycled. You’ll also feel good when you complete your first print job using a remanufactured HP cartridge and notice that the quality is just as good as an expensive retail cartridge!
